How to choose a colour before you buy paint
6 min read

Most colour mistakes happen before anyone opens a tin. A shade that looked perfect on a phone in a shop can look different on your wall in the afternoon.
Start with the floor. If you have warm teak wood, cool greys may clash. If you have white marble, a warm orange or brown can make the room feel grounded.
Then look at the light three times a day. North light looks cooler. South light looks warmer. Always try a large sample on two walls — do not decide from a tiny chip.
RockPaint colours are mixed for Indian daylight. If you are unsure, book a colour visit. We bring large samples, not tiny catalogue chips.
